What is a Photo Session Like?

Book Your Session
We will decide on a session date & time
You will pay a $250 session fee* to lock in your date
*You get $150 of your session fee applied as a product credit with a purchase of $1000 or more at your ordering appointment!
Consultation
This planning session will allow us to get the very best photos. A virtual meeting via Zoom is preferred - we get to see each other and chat in the comfort of our own homes. I will get to know you and your dog. Your pup need not be present, but would be welcome at least for introductions! If a Zoom meeting is not possible, we will talk by phone.
We will talk about what you might like in a photo session and how and where you would like to enjoy the finished products of your images… on the wall, in an album, or…? In your family room, office, stairway, or…? And I can show you samples of everything from wall art to frame corners and album cover or memories box sample fabrics.
We will talk about session location possibilities. If you have some ideas - great! If not, I will offer up some good options based on what you envision for your images. And of course, if you have any questions along the way, this will be a great time to get answers.
We will talk about ‘photo look’ choices:
For Environmental Backgrounds
Does your dog love going places with you? A downtown walk on the T Pot bridge and along the canal? Visits to local wineries, breweries, dog friendly stores, or a treat at a local dog bakery? Exploring outdoor spaces like parks, wading in creeks, climbing on rocks? A session can be arranged at any one of those places.
Or perhaps a quiet walk in the neighborhood, a treat upon return, and a long snooze on a favorite chair? Lapdog fanatic? Velcro dog who just loves to be anywhere you are? We can document and capture those special times right near home or in your backyard. Or even inside your home, if you want.

For Studio Backgrounds
Often clients will want a background different from the outdoors. It might be a better fit for their decor or might be a more appropriate setting for their dog’s personality. A studio background look is obtained at a location on your property; in your garage, a basement or room that has approximately 8’x12’ of space, or an open patio, deck, or even driveway if there are limited distractions there. I bring and set up a studio backdrop, light stands and lights, and props such as chair, ottoman, or bench.

Photo Day
Your Dog is The Star!
You will receive a Session Preparation Guide to help you get ready for your pup’s big day in front of the camera. It will give you tips on helping your furry friend look and feel his/her very best and give you some ideas on clothing choices for you if you will be photographed.
Based on what we discussed in our planning session, I will bring some product samples for you to see and touch. And then the photographing begins!
After the Photo Session
Ordering Appointment
We meet via Zoom or in person
You see all of your images and select your faves. There will be so many favorites, but I have special software to help you compare images to narrow it down.
We will look at your images in specially designed wall art viewing software, using a photo of YOUR wall that you provide to me prior to this appointment.
Then you place your order with me. All that’s left to do after that is dream of enjoying your beautiful wall art, albums, and/or folio box with prints! It should take about 2 to 3 weeks from order to delivery; I will personally deliver them to you.
